All six area high school in attendance, so we start first with Benet’s Reagan Rodenbostel on the very first hole of the day. She just misses the birdie, taps in for par and finishes with a 45, best for the wings.
Move to the third hole with one of Naperville North’s captains Emma Lin. She hits the long putt going for par with the pin still in, nicely done for the senior.
Lin’s teammate, another Emma, Emma Kirvan on the 8th hole. She’s going for the putt but just misses. She ends with a 41 on the day.
Waubonsie coming off a dual win over Metea from the day before. Warrior Kate Libby just off the green. She gets it to go the distance and taps it in, helping her to finish with a 52.
Neuqua’s Isabella Wu’s turn on 8 with another long putt. She gets it close enough to tap it in, rounding out her score of 48.
Redhawk Neha Vinesh teeing off on the 9th hole. She gets a good swing to land on the fairway, which she would end up finishing with a par and a 42, best for Naperville Central.
Teammate Emma Lim finds herself in a good spot for her second shot on the 9th hole. She chips it on to the green and then looks for the birdie… just misses that but taps in for par and a 44 on the day helping Central to a second place finish.
Metea’s Jessica Leibfrtiz and company is under new direction this year with Coach Brad Lange. She finishes her putt with a round total of 52.
Wildcat Sarah Zheng was third best on the day… and you can see why with this nice chip shot on to the green. She ended with a 42 while her team finished in 3rd.
Huskie Emma Lin would be the top golfer on the day as she sinks this birdie putt on the 9th hole. She would actually tie with teammate Emma Kirvan but the 9th hole was the tie breaker, which Lin was under Kirvan… With those top two performances, it’s no surprise that the huskies take home the Vern McGonagle trophy after losing out to Benet Academy last year by just four strokes.
